Kim Di Marzio

Kim Di MarzioDirector

Kim has been involved in the market research industry for over 35 years since graduating with a Bachelor of Economics in 1975. His early research experience was gained on the client side first at ANZ Bank and then Cadbury Schweppes. During this time, Kim also completed the Graduate Diploma in Marketing where he was one of the top students in the research stream.

From 1981-86 he was a research consultant at Reark Research and then Brian Sweeney & Associates where he became a Director before starting Worthington Di Marzio.

Kim is equally adept at qualitative and quantitative disciplines. He has consulted on an extremely wide variety of product and service areas, designing and managing numerous projects for both private and government sectors.

Kim is highly respected in the industry. He is a Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR), was a committee member of the Market Research Society of Australia from 1984 to 1988, Chairman of AMSRO from 1989 to 1993 and was awarded Fellow status by the Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS) in 1999.

Paul was offered a role as Project Manager with Di Marzio Research in 2006 after gaining sales and marketing experience working at Nike Australia. He completed a marketing degree at La Trobe University which included a stint at the University of Oregon (USA) where he focused on the marketing discipline. In 2009, he spent a year working at Quantum Market Research which expanded his knowledge as a researcher and then he returned to Di Marzio Research in 2010.

Di Marzio Research has a broad client list allowing Paul to work on both qualitative and quantitative projects spanning many industries including advertising, financial services, retail and wholesale trade, energy supply, sports, entertainment, social and government research.

He’s intrigued to learn more about others’ life experiences, particularly through face-to-face qualitative research which he enjoys, but he also has a flair for bringing numbers to life. Paul has also become knowledgeable about online social media which he uses to enrich the information gathered via primary research techniques. Such traits have been beneficial in his interaction with clients, and in assisting them with strategic decision making.

Paul is an advocate for the market research industry and is enthusiastic about it.

  • He is a Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR) and a Full Member of the Australian Market & Social Research Society (AMSRS).
  • He has served on various AMSRS committees including the editorial advisory committee for Research News (the industry’s monthly member publication) and the Young Researchers Group.
  • He seeks to promote the industry to potential talent at high school and university by presenting and talking to them about his experience in the industry.
  • He is involved in the Australian Marketing Institutes mentoring program, working with upcoming marketing graduates to assist them with their career goals.

Annette Simpson

Annette Simpson has spent over 30 years working in market research, including the last 20 years with Worthington Di Marzio and Di Marzio Research. This experience has encompassed practical involvement in all qualitative and quantitative market research techniques, from recruitment to executive in-depth interviewing with managers and professionals at the highest levels.

She has also developed strong managerial skills relating to both qualitative and quantitative field teams.

Annette has personally co-ordinated and recruited large numbers of rare populations for national interview studies, involving up to 150 individual qualitative interviews

She has also served as Chair of the Field Management Group (subcommittee of AMSRS).
