Telephone Surveys
Telephone surveys can be a good technique to reach and question different target audiences in the public or business sector which are spread wide geographically via mobiles or landlines or both. Important elements include availability of a suitable sampling frame, accessibility, questions needing to be asked, interview length, timing and budget as well as design considerations and the fieldwork process.
We previously had our own, trained interviewing team but now sub-contract this function to specialist, quality-accredited fieldwork companies who undertake the interviews under supervised conditions based on our direction at a central location using CATI facilities. CATI refers to Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing where the questionnaire is loaded onto a screen and responses are automatically entered and quickly available for analysis.
